In 1929 Marek’s great grandfather set up an apiary of around forty beehives, his family has continued the traditional art of beekeeping through four generations.
The apiary has grown to upwards of two-hundred beehives with happy, healthy bees!
The bees are of the utmost importance to Marek’s family so our honey and bee pollen is harvested ethically and consciously from colonies of happy bees that his family has been nurturing for four generations.
We support Slovakian forestry organisations locally to preserve and protect the unique and natural habitat for our bees and other species of natures pollinators.
The apiary is based near a small village in the south-eastern part of Slovakia and the beehives are situated in the picturesque, unspoiled surroundings at the foot of an Acacia hill near a small river called Ondava.
During the summer months the beehives are carefully relocated to the mountainous area of High Tatras when the flowers are just starting to bloom.
