…Marek and I moved in together!
Marek is an engineer here in the UK, but he’s also a fourth generation beekeeper which was something I didn’t find out until move day! As well as piles of clothes, a desk, some kitchen stuff and a toothbrush Marek brought boxes and boxes of raw honey, propolis, bee pollen and mead from his family’s apiary in Slovakia. His mother, Janka and father, Tibor are the ones who take care of the bees now, but what I love most is the fact that the apiary was first established in 1929 by his great grandfather, Imrich.
I had minimal knowledge of raw honey and I was a supermarket honey purchaser until I had huge quantities of it taking up cupboard space! So there was only one thing to do…EAT IT, RIGHT?! From then on there wasn’t a day where I’d miss a spoon of honey and bee pollen, I was hooked and having exhausted a few options to realise our passion for building something together we made the decision to set up on Amazon and make the raw honey and bee pollen available in the UK.
We’re both in full-time work which means time has always been a limiting factor for us so we spent many evenings and weekends working through endless to do lists. In the months to follow Marek came up with our brand name, we brought in a friend to help us design our logo and labels and Marek created our Amazon listings. I set us up on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and started posting. It all sounds so simple when written here, but I can assure you there were many thoughtful disagreements (arguments!) and late nights.
Our friends and family have been both our biggest fans and our biggest critics and after all the time we’d dedicated to Honey Tradition, in early 2019 we were good to go. We were excited and nervous and at that point, a tiny bit of fear had crept up upon us. Just because we loved the products, didn’t mean everyone else would! Well we overcame that fear with a glass of mead and pushed on. Our product listings were there on Amazon and on day one the first jar of Honey Tradition Raw & Natural Bee pollen sold, then another, then another. Then came the positive reviews. We couldn’t believe it. Next came the Linden honey, Acacia honey and Honeydew honey and the same thing happened again. We were delighted!
Fast forward 12 months….We’ve weathered a global pandemic, furlough schemes and took a chance on entering four of our products into The Guild of Fine Foods, Great Taste Awards 2020 which resulted in us achieving three awards! The unmistakable black-and-gold label, a stamp of outstanding quality now proudly features on our Linden honey, Honeydew honey and Bee pollen. UnBEElieveable right? Sorry I just couldn’t resist a bee pun!
Anyways here we are in November 2020 looking at what the future holds. Our first step is this, our website. So we’d like to say a huge thank you for taking the time to stop by.
We hope you’ll love our products as much as we do!
Thanks,
Sarah

Thank you Angela, we hope you will love it as we do 😊
This is the right website for anybody who wants to find out about this topic. You understand a whole lot its almost tough to argue with you (not that I personally would want toÖHaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic which has been written about for years. Excellent stuff, just excellent!
Thank you for your support, we appreciate that!
